From innovation to industrial scale

Since 2017, Innovafeed has been developing and industrializing a new generation of ingredients derived from insect farming. Our model is built today on two complementary sites in the Hauts-de-France region: our R&D center in Gouzeaucourt and our industrial site in Nesle, one of the largest insect farming facilities in the world.

This French footprint allows us to master our entire model, from research and development through to large-scale production, while building industrial partnerships based on the local upcycling of resources.

Nesle, the largest active insect production site in the world

This production unit opened in Nesle in November 2020 is co-located with Tereos (starch manufacturer) and Kogeban (biomass plant), a unique example of industrial collaboration.

It will enable Innovafeed to acquire a supply of quality raw materials and, for Tereos, to locally valorize its co-products while limiting the energy needs associated with their processing.

The co-location with Kogeban enables Innovafeed to harness its waste energy.

The Innovafeed co-location project will save 50,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Gouzeaucourt, the pilot site in North of France

The first Innovafeed plant was inaugurated in October 2017 in Gouzeaucourt, North of France, within the largest European deposit of agricultural and agri-food by-products.

This production unit, which valorizes local agricultural by-products for insect rearing, has allowed the validation of our model and the deployment of our production capacity to start marketing our products.

Our production site is GMP+ certified to ensure the best tracability.

Decatur, Innovafeed's production site in the United States

Inaugurated in April 2024, the Decatur site marks Innovafeed’s industrial expansion in North America. In partnership with ADM, Innovafeed replicates its industrial symbiosis model at the world’s largest corn processing site.

ADM Decatur’s corn co-products are recycled locally to feed the insects through connected infrastructure. This production model also allows Innovafeed to use 27 MW of residual energy recovered from ADM’s process, energy that was previously not utilized.

Strategically located in the heart of America’s corn belt, this site represents Innovafeed’s first international facility and produces high-quality insect proteins for the animal feed and pet food markets in North America.
